You've probably read that you'll need the right materials when hiking! Not only that but chances are if your doing the Camino Frances that you'll cover a range if temperatures in the time your on the track. We went from 36 degrees one week to under 10 another! Here are some of our favourite purchases we wore day after day.
Socks! Armaskins and Injinji
It may seem crazy but dual socks are a must! We absolutely loved wearing Armaskins with a quality wool blend sock over the top. I also loved my Injinji toe socks, sometimes with another light sock over the top. Injinji now make dual socks in one, so I would definitely buy these next time!

Shoes
Shoes are truly a highly personal question. Some love to wear hiking boots, many others are wearing trail or general runners and others are wearing open sandals whilst walking. My biggest tip is that wear something with a good padding on the sole. You'll be crossing cobblestones and many rocks, so you'll need something that can help with the cushioning. Also don't wear waterproof! Waterproof shoes are too hot for your feet and a breeding ground for blisters. The shoes I wore and absolutely loved were Saucony Peregrine:
Protective Hat/s
I loved the hats I bought on Amazon. They both were super light and comfortable with great sun protection. Couldn't live without them. Here are a few options below for consideration.

Cooling arm sleeves
Sometimes it is just simply too hot to wear a long sleeve shirt and sunscreen can get sticky and messy. I aboslutely loved wearing the Solbari UPF50+ arm sleeves, which I could slip on and off when I most needed them. They were also really cooling, easy to wash, quick to dry and felt really nice on! There are options below with thumbholes and without.

Merino underwear
Loved my Mac Pac merino briefs. Super comfortable, good sweat wicking, easy to wash and super quick to dry.
The Icebreaker thong for ladies who like to wear this style is also a great option: https://amzn.to/493v4FL (Amazon)
Kathmandu shorts
Whilst I did pack some leggings and wore the occasional Lululemon shorts, I found my Kathmandu hiking shorts the best. They are made out of Cordura fabric. I purchased them a long time ago so can't find a link to them online, but they were super comfortable to wear, easy to wash and quick to dry. Next time I would also add some zip off pants from Kathmandu to make it easier throughout the day.
Thank you those are awesome tips!!
